Ant-Man and the Wasp SPOILERS: Who dies? Does anyone turn to dust amid Infinity War?

The film starts in the run-up to Avengers: Infinity War and then takes place in tandem, with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly returning as the two titular heroes alongside Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne.

WARNING: Major spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp ahead.

Avengers: Infinity War, of course, ends with Thanos collecting all of the Infinity Stones and initiating the Snap – turning half of humanity to dust.

So given that both tales take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, does anyone in Ant-Man and the Wasp disintegrate too? The answer is yes. But who?

This is your last chance to look away and avoid spoilers.

In a mid-credits scene, Hank, Scott (Ant-Man), Hope (The Wasp) and Janet are attempting harvest quantum energy to help Ava Starr (Hannah John-Kamen), aka Ghost.

But in a case of unfortunate timing, while Scott is in the quantum realm, Hank, Hope and Janet all disintegrate into dust.

Not only does this shockingly boost Thanos’ death toll, it also leaves Scott trapped in the quantum realm.

So that is presumably where we will catch up with Scott at the beginning of Avengers 4 next year.

Not only is he trapped in the quantum realm, he also has to process the loss of half of humanity – including Hope, Hank and Janet.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is not out in the UK until August 2, something the cast are decidedly unhappy about.

“They always do that,” Lilly told Empire. “Then what happens is people just pirate the movie and they see it in the worst way possible, like some sh***y version online, instead of going to a theatre.

“They go in the end, but I don’t like that staggering.

“I’m really going to get to the bottom of this for you. I’m as p****d off about it as you are.”
