Melania Trump drops hint of UK tour wardrobe as she wears royal's favourite designer

Melania Trump, 48, returned to The White House with Donald Trump after the family had enjoyed a weekend away.

The First Lady is gearing up for a tour of the UK with her husband, and it seems she is even preparing her wardrobe by already wearing British designers.

The mum-of-one looked very summery in an Erdem dress today. Erdem is a favourite of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, with speculation rife the latter would choose the brand to make her wedding dress.

Melania’s choice, the Kasia Paisley Parrot print cotton shirtdress, was originally $1,288 on Matchesfashion.com but is now on sale for just $456.

She paired the dress with an orange leather belt to highlight her trim waist.

Picking out the orange colour further, Melania donned a pair of Malono Blahnik pumps.

Shading her eyes from the sun, Melania wore a pair of large square framed sunglasses.

Her hair was simply styled, word on a side parting straight down over her shoulders.

She kept her make-up simple, opting for a sweep of bronzer and nude lipstick.

Donald and Melania will arrive in the UK on Friday after spending a few days in Belgium.

The “highlight” of their visit will be when they meet the Queen, an insider confirmed.

US Ambassador Robert Johnson told reporters on Friday: “A highlight of any President’s visit to the U.K. [is when] the President and First Lady will travel to Windsor Castle to meet Her Majesty the Queen.”

As with anyone meeting the Royal Family, there are rules and traditions Melania will have to follow. It will be the first time the former model from Slovenia has met Her Majesty, although she has previously spoken to the Queen’s grandson Prince Harry during a trip to Canada.

She will be expected to curtsey or bow her head. However, according to the BBC, you can also shake hands or do a combination as Theresa May once did.

Melania should only shake hands with the Queen if she offers it, however, as her Majesty shouldn’t be touched.

While Donald spends time with other senior politicians, Melania will be looked after by Theresa May’s husband Philip.

Used to spending her time with other First Lady’s and wives of politicians, Melania will be in for something different on her first visit to the UK since her husband’s inauguration.

Reported to be a “quiet and reserved” man, Philip is a former banker and has been married to Theresa for 28 years.

In one of his rare public appearances on the One Show during the Election campaign, he admitted to taking the bins out at their family home in Berkshire.

The 60-year-old has been charged with looking after Melania, set to show her the sights of the UK and keep her company while Donald is otherwise engaged.
