James Bond 25 cast: Who are the new baddies in the next James Bond movie?
Following in the footsteps of the older James Bond movies, the baddies are once again from Russia, without love.
This will be the first time 07 has taken on a Russia baddie in 20 years.
And a casting call has now gone out for one male and one female role in the as-yet-untitled James Bond film.
The producers of the 007 series, which are inspired by Ian Fleming’s novels, are seeking a 30 to 60-year-old leading male.
The casting call goes on to say the male should be from Russia or the Balkans.
He must be “charismatic, powerful, innovative, cold and vindictive,” all the requisite traits for a traditional Bond baddie.
But behind every man is an equally powerful woman, and the producers have not left the role wanting.
A leading female role is from a Russian or Balkan background is also open.
She must be “very striking” with “strong physical combat skills” to hopefully go head to head with Bond himself.
Her character is described as “intelligent, brave, fierce and charming, she’s witty and skilful, a survivor”.
Another character up for grabs has made fans think the evil couple will have a Maori henchman, who must possess “combat skills” and be “ruthless and loyal”.
While Russians are often thought of as the typical Bond villain, there hasn’t been a Russian antagonist since 1999’s “Renard” Zokas.
Zokas was a former KGB agent turned terrorist, played by Robert Carlyle in The World Is Not Enough.
The new James Bond movie, provisionally being called James Bond 25, is being directed by Danny Boyle.
So far, Daniel Craig is the only confirmed cast member, set to reprise his role as the stoic James Bond.
This will be his last appearance as 007, and speculation is high surrounding who will be the next Bond.
Rumoured actors reprising their roles include Ben Wishaw as Q and Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny.
Production on James Bond 25 is expected to begin in December 2018.
James Bond 25 is set to arrive in theatres on November 8, 2019.
