Avengers 4 end credit TEASER: What Infinity War end credits reveals about Avengers 4?

The final scenes of Avengers: Infinity War have left fans questioning the very nature of reality.

With some of their favourite heroes wiped out of existence, fans are dissecting every second of Infinity War to try and predict the plot of Avengers 4 and how those superheroes might return.

For a quick recap of the final moments of Infinity War, Thanos (Josh Brolin) acquired the six Infinity Stones and used them to wipe out half of life on Earth.

The post credit scene saw Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) struggling to come to grips with what is happening.

He watches as a car, whose driver has disintegrated, collides with his own, and a pilotless helicopter crashes into a building.

To the heartbreak of fans, Fury begins to turn to dust.

But before he vanishes totally he uses a retro looking pager to send a distress signal.

Who does he call? Captain Marvel.

One of the interesting tidbits fans picked up on in this end credit scene was the device used by Fury to send the distress signal to Captain Marvel.

AVENGERS 4 LEAK: IS THIS THE LEAKED AVENGERS 4 TITLE?

The device has been described by many as a beeper or pager.

Given Captain Marvel is set in the 1990s, and the device is a quintessentially 90s piece of tech, fans have begun to theorise.

As time travel is a suspected part of how the Avengers defeat Thanos, and Captain Marvel is set in the 90s, this beeper could mean Fury is somehow contacting Captain Marvel in the 90s.

Captain Marvel herself doesn’t have time travelling abilities necessarily, but Doctor Strange does – and Ant-Man has use of the Quantum Realm, which is said to be able to facilitate time travel as well.

Reddit user accountfornerdstuff speculated this is possible if Ant-Man and Captain Marvel team up.

Captain Marvel may also be capable of handling the stone Thanos used to destroy the Avengers.

The after credit teaser of Captain Marvel’s appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is creating a hotbed of theories and excitement.

But can Captain Marvel return Nick Fury’s call and rescue the Avengers?

We’ll have to wait for Spring 2019 to find out.
