Batman solo movie: ‘Jack Huston contender for Two-Face in younger Dark Knight story’

Last year rumours were circulating that the director was meeting actors like Jake Gyllenhaal to consider who will take over from Affleck.

However since the script is now about a young Batman, it looks like he’ll be exploring actors aged around 25-30.

This is what sources tell Revenge of the Fans, who also say Reeves’ script bears resemblance to Frank Miller’s graphic novel Batman: Year One.

The comic is a story focused on the Dark Knight’s early days as a superhero in Gotham City and one that has a noir, detective story feel to it.

It’s already been rumoured that The Penguin could show up, but now it also seems Harvey Dent, who eventually becomes Two-Face, will feature.

And that’s where Huston comes in. Allegedly he was being considered to play Batman like Gyllenhaal, but now Reeves is looking for a much younger actor for the title role, he’s being consider for Two-Face.

If this is the case, going with Huston would be somewhat typecasting since the actor shot to fame after playing Richard Harrow, a World War I veteran, in Boardwalk Empire.

The character, like Two-Face, has one side of his face badly disfigured, so it’s not a surprise if he’s come to mind for casting.

Two-Face has previously been played by Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever and by Aaron Eckhardt in The Dark Knight.

Meanwhile Billy Dee Williams played Harvey Dent in Tim Burton’s Batman, but only got to take on Two-Face in The LEGO Batman Movie.

Most recently the character was voiced by William Shatner in Adam West’s last animated outing, Batman vs. Two-Face.

A release date and official title for the Batman solo movie is yet to be announced.
