Sony’s Marvel spin-off universe to the MCU kicks off with Venom this October.

Hardy stars as the Spider-Man villain’s host Eddie Brock, a photographer.

But new footage shows Ahmed’s inventor Carlton Drake revealing his plan for humanity.

In a lab the antagonist says: “Look around at the world, what do you see? A planet on the brink of collapse.”

He continues: “Human beings are disposable, but man and symbiotic combined; this is a new race, a new species. A high life form.”

And that’s exactly what happens to poor Eddie who’s told by his alien symbiote that if he cooperates he might just survive.

Neither of them are Venom by themselves, “We are Venom” they say together.

However the title character may have met his match when Drake becomes Riot, as seen in one of the trailer’s big fight scenes.

The big difference between Venom and Carnage is that the latter is a psychopath; having no sense of morality.

And as Venom’s human alter ego is Eddie Brock, Carnage’s is Celtus Kasady.

Venom will be released in UK cinemas on October 5, 2018.
