Record-Breaking Month for Panama City Beach Tourism

Panama City Beach and the Bay County Tourist Development Council announce collections for the month of June 2018 were up 10.4 percent compared to June 2017, and the destination is currently up 8.5 percent for the fiscal year, which began October 2017.

“With our beautiful beaches, great weather and a wide variety of attractions and entertainment, our destination welcomed thousands of families for a kick-start to summer vacation in Panama City Beach,” shared Visit Panama City Beach President and CEO Dan Rowe. “The destination’s June results reflect the entire tourism community’s objective of attracting families looking to create lasting memories with their loved ones to celebrate the end of the school year and start of summer.”

June is an ideal time for travelers of all ages to enjoy the destination’s endless options for fun on the water including boat cruises to Shell Island, paddle boarding, kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing. June performances from top artists like Paper Work and The Lee Boys for Panama City Beach’s 2018 Summer Concert Series at Aaron Bessant Park Amphitheater also brought music lovers from near and far for this beloved summertime tradition.

The Tourist Development Tax is a five percent tax on short-term rentals including hotels and condominiums. The tax funds marketing and promotional activities led by the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau. It is also used for beach cleaning and grooming, product improvement and beach renourishment.
