Ant-Man and the Wasp, a spin-off prequel to ‘s Avengers Infinity War, is currently in cinemas but will the trilogy be completed?

While there’s officially no plans, it’s something director Peyton Reed and producer Stephen Broussard would certainly be interested in exploring.

Speaking with the producer teased that Ant-Man 3 would delve deeper into the Quantum Realm.

He said: “I think there’s more to do there. At this point of the process with the first Ant-Man, based on a glimmer of what you saw if you froze your DVD at the right place, we had the idea of ‘what if part 2 was about finding Janet?’”

The producer continued: “And it was an inkling of an idea. Nothing’s been announced, I’m not coyly sitting on any announcement.

“There really is no plans for the next one, but you can’t help but talk as filmmakers and creative people about where you would go next if you ever got the opportunity.

“And we talk a lot about the Quantum Realm and there would be perhaps more opportunity to go down there.

Maybe there’s more down there than we realised. “Clearly, Janet’s been up to something and has different clothes on and some weapons. Where did those come from?”

He added: “And similarly, if you look at the right moment and freeze the DVD in a certain place, maybe you’ll see something else as well that could tip a hat to where the story could go.”

Director Reed was asked about Ant-Man 3 last month, giving a update for fans.

The filmmaker said: “I’ll answer that question really honestly.Who knows, because I suspect, I don’t know this, but I think any further announcement of the slate – the rest of this year is going to be about the next Avengers movie and the tea-up to that stuff. And then I think we are all hopeful.”

He continued: “Just the same as last time. We didn’t have any idea there would be a second Ant-Man until maybe a month or so after the first one came out.

“This was a giant question mark. With the first one, there was obviously behind the scenes drama that preceded me, but also, it’s Ant-Man.

“There was a question of, are people going to see this movie? It was not a fait accompli.

“It could have gone either way. I think we are all interested in doing one. There is a story to tell there. Definitely. There is a story we’ve talked about potentially. I’m very, very hopeful.”
