Star Wars Episode 9 release date: When is the FINAL Star Wars movie in cinemas?
Fans of any fandom have been known to take their pop culture icons very seriously.
Star Wars is no exception, but fans seem to be able to agree upon the basic facts – even if an interpretation of them leads to an array of fan theories.
When is Star Wars: Episode IX out in cinemas?
Star Wars Episode 9, whose working title is trIXie will be in cinemas on Thursday, December 19, 2019.
Episode 9 will be the last chapter in the main Star Wars trilogy.
It has already begun filming on August 1 at London’s Pinewood Studios, with BB-8 already there for his scenes.
JJ Abrams has returned to helm the end of the Skywalker saga, having co-written the screenplay with Chris Terrio.
While Episode 9 might close the book on the Skywalker story, but Rian Johnson is set to start a whole new trilogy of his own.
STAR WARS EPISODE 9 CAST: IS CARRIE FISHER IN STAR WARS EPISODE IX?
Not to mention the potential for spin-offs (though they may still be in jeopardy after the disappointing performance of Solo).
For Episode 9, returning ‘new’ cast members include Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron.
Mark Hamill and Billy Dee Williams will also appear in Episode 9, though how either of them will manifest remains to be seen.
Additionally, quelling some fears and quashing some theories Carrie Fisher will return as Leia Organa using previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.
Newcomers to the cast of Star Wars 9 include Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, and Keri Russell.
There is no plot detail for Episode 9 yet, but some final showdown between Rey and Kylo Ren seems a given.
The next thing on everyone’s mind? The title.
Whatever the title may be, it’s likely to spark a whole new slew of theories and speculations.
Star Wars Episode 9 is in UK cinemas Thursday, December 19, 2019.
