Yesterday, 41 years ago, Elvis Presley died of a heart attack on the toilet at Graceland, his home in Memphis, Tennessee.

Since then many conspiracy theories have sprouted claiming the King didn’t actually die, or he faked his death for a quiet life away from fame.

However the man who features in the last footage of Elvis,Todd Slaughter, asserts it’s all nonsense.

The life-long fan has been the owner of The Official Elvis Presley fan club UK for over 50 years and hasn’t been taken in by any of the claims.

Speaking with Express.co.uk, the Elvis expert said: “Of course he died.

“He certainly died. He wasn’t living in a Buddhist temple anywhere. He died.

“And I think that’s the reason they put his body on show almost.”

Slaughter was referencing Elvis’ open casket which thousands of people gathered to view at Graceland.

He added: “And then of course it turned out everybody said it was a waxwork, but you’re going to get this nonsense.”

He added: “But you try to remember what it was all about. He was saying something funny about Colonel Parker [Elvis’ manager], not offensive or anything like that.

“Of course I did say, ‘When are you going to come [to tour the UK]?’

“But of course by that time you could tell Elvis wasn’t a well guy to say the least.”

Elvis ’68 Comeback Special is available in over 280 UK Cinemas from 16th August. Tickets can be bought at https://en.fathomrocks.com.
