James Bond: ‘Daniel Craig chose ALL his Bond girls from Eva Green, has BIG say on casting’

Marvel and Star Wars may be huge Hollywood franchises but the big difference between them and James Bond is that the latter has one actor representing the whole caboodle.

It’s no wonder then that Craig gets a big say in terms of director, script and casting.

Now an insider have revealed the 50-year-old star gave the final word on who his Bond girl co-stars would be across his five films.

Speaking with the Telegraph the source said: “Craig has a big say in all the casting decisions.

“None of the Bond girls have been chosen without his say so.

“For example he chose Eva Green to be the Bond girl when it came to the final four for Casino Royale and that has been the case for all the Bond girls he has worked with.”

Green played Vesper in Craig’s debut, while other actresses in his 007 movies have included Gemma Arterton, Olga Kurylenko, Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux.

The source was specifically commenting on Craig’s alleged disagreement with Bond 25 director Boyle.

The filmmaker, who has now quit the film, is said to have wanted to cast Cold War actor Tomasz Kot as the lead Russian villain.

However it’s believed that Craig saw his casting as too “left-field” a decision for a Bond enemy.

The insider added: “It was telling the producers put his [Craig’s] name on their release saying that Boyle had been sacked,” the source said. 

“I have heard that they wanted to bring that Cold War element in but update it to the modern day. 

“Danny Boyle was in for that. That wasn’t the problem. The problem came in when they were making the final decisions about casting pre-production.” 

Bond 25 is set for release in October 2019, but may get delayed.
