Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s firm jewellery rule that they must follow
Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have both been hailed as style icons since they joined the Royal Family.
Prince William’s wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, has topped many best dressed lists in her life.
Now Meghan Markle is inspiring items to sell out as she wears them.
A royal style rule that both the women follow has been revealed.
News.com.au reports that Kate and Meghan do not wear diamonds except for special occasions.
They certainly do not wear them while they are working, according to an expert.
This is except for their stunning engagement rings, which the two women are never seen without.
“Other jewels are worn pre-6pm,” royal expert Myka Meier said.
“Before 6pm, you’ll see metallics, gemstones, pearls, sapphires.
“At night, you’ll see the diamonds come out, and that’s in order to not come across as flashy in your appearance.”
Meghan Duchess of Sussex wore a pair of diamond earrings last night to an event.
The diamond and pearl pieces were said to be a gift from Her Majesty the Queen, 92.
Meghan Markle’s jewellery collection is worth thousands of pounds, as is made up of royal gifts and private pieces she bought with her acting fortune.
When Meghan joined Harry for a tour of Edinburgh in February, she wore the diamond snowflake ring, £2,858 and yellow gold splash ring, £855, from Birks.
Last night Meghan Markle’s outfit for a children’s charity event cost £3,232.37.
She opted for a black designer suit by Altuzarra.
Kate Middleton’s jewellery paid homage to the Queen on her most recent sighting.
This weekend the mother of Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince Louis, born in April, wore a piece of jewellery which is very special to the Queen.
In fact, Elizabeth II has had the pieces for a whopping 71 years.
They were the stunning Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings, which were created for the Queen.
How did Kate Middleton become a royal?
Early life
Kate Middleton, or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was born on 9 January 1982 at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, England.
She was born to Michael and Carole Middleton, a former flight dispatcher and air hostess. The couple founded a party supplies company, Party Pieces, in 1987 – now estimated to be worth £30 million.
Kate has a younger sister Pippa Matthews, 34, and a younger brother James Middleton, 31.
Education
Kate and her family moved to Amman, Jordan, in 1984, where the future Duchess was educated at an English-speaking nursery school.
After moving back to Berkshire the family sent Kate to private school, St Andrews School. She went on to briefly study at Downe House before moving onto Marlborough College where she boarded.
For university the young Kate attended the University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Here she was awarded an undergraduate MA (2:1 Hons) in history of art.
Relationship with Prince William
Kate met Prince William when they were both studying at St Andrews, and both living in St Salvator’s Hall. Famously, William reportedly took a fancy to Kate after she wore a see-through dress during a fashion show.
In 2003 the couple began dating and lived together during their second year of university.
The couple split in April 2007, however, in October they were back together.
Wedding
Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with his late mother Princess Diana’s engagement ring in October 2010. The couple were holidaying in Kenya at the time.
On 29 April 2011 they married at Westminster Abbey with a whopping 26 million watching the event live.
Kate wore an Alexander McQueen dress worth a reported £250,000 on the big day.
Kate assumed the title “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge” and also become the Duchess of Cambridge on the day.
