Captain Marvel: WHERE is the trailer? Fan backlash 'We've been played'
According to the movie’s main star, it was supposed to “break the internet.”
Yesterday Brie Larson promised a massive reveal at noon in America (5pm in the UK).
With only six months to go, very little has been revealed of the next major Marvel release, and no official images or footage.
The words may not have been said, but exited fans worldwide was absolutely expecting a teaser or even full trailer.
Tweeting at Entertainment Weekly yesterday, Larson said: “Hey @EW I’m bored. Wanna break the Internet tomorrow?”
The US website and magazine responded: “Yes! Meet us here at noon ET. We’ve got something Marvel-ous in mind.”
At noon the magzine cover for the Captain Marvel special edition was revealed. It is a striking image and the first proper look a the superhero in her costume, her arms alight and blazing with power.
Fan responses started pouring in, and while most liked the image, the overwhelming message was frustration and disappointment summed up by: “Has Marvel just trolled us?”

There is still hope the trailer will appear sometime this month. Marvel boss Kebin Feige said it was only “a few months away” back in June.
However, a second major Marvel announcement today revealed the company will have a significant prsence at New York ComicCon in October.
