Halloween: NEW Halloween movie starring Jamie Lee Curtis – cast, plot, release, trailer
The Halloween franchise has survived quite a lot, including seven sequels to varying degrees of success.
After inspiring a plethora of other slasher films, Halloween is returning to its roots.
The original Halloween movie from 1978 was directed by John Carpenter, who co-wrote the script with Debra Hill.
Forty years later, a direct sequel is coming to cinemas right in time for Halloween.
When is the Halloween movie release date?
The horror flick has its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2018.
Fans in France will have a chance to see it at its premiere on October 1 in Paris.
Both the UK and the USA will see the cinema release at the same time, on October 19, 2018.
Last in line to receive the Michael Meyers slasher film is the Netherlands, on November 1, 2018.
What is the plot of the Halloween movie?
This Halloween movie is a direct sequel to the 1978 original movie.
Michael Myers is back as the masked figure who went on a killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Laurie Strode, who narrowly escaped death at the hands of Myers, comes face-to-face with Michael Myers for a final confrontation.
The plot of the newest Halloween movie will disregard the plots of the other sequels released.
Halloween will also be the final instalment of the long-running franchise.
Who is in the cast of Halloween?
Plenty of familiar faces return – most excitingly Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode.
Judy Greer plays Karen Strode, Laurie’s daughter and mother of Allyson.
Allyson Strode is played by Andi Matichak, who has appeared on Orange is the New Black.
Will Patton plays Hawkins, a police officer in town while Virginia Gardner plays Allyson’s best friend Vicky.
Nick Castle and James Jude Courtney are reprising their joint endeavour as Michael Myers / The Shape.
Other cast members include Miles Robbins, Dylan Arnold, Drew Scheid, Omar J. Dorsey, Rob Niter, Toby Huss, Jefferson Hall, Rhian Rees, Haluk Bilginer, and Jibrail Nantambu as a little boy Vicky babysits on Halloween night.
Is there a trailer for the Halloween movie?
Yes, a brand new trailer was released yesterday September 7, and you can watch it here at Express.co.uk.
Halloween is in cinemas October 19, 2018.
