Prince biopic movie: Guess which singer's been approached to play the Purple Rain legend?

Two years ago the world lost a music legend.

But now Prince is going to be remembered through a Netflix movie biopic.

And according to The Mirror Bruno Mars is being lined up to play him.

Mars, a big fan of Prince, paid tribute to him at last year’s Grammy’s when he sung Purple Rain.

A source said: “Bruno says it will probably be the most nerve-racking move of his career if it happens.

“Prince was one of his idols so to be asked to take on a hefty role like that especially as a debut acting move is full-on.

“The offer has come out of the blue.

“Bruno used to love acting when he was younger but it’s not an avenue he’s explored.”

According to Variety, Kingsman actor Taron Egerton will play Elton in the upcoming movie.

The 28-year-old will star in Rocket Man, which will cover Elton’s “emergence as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music to becoming a music superstar and his partnership with songwriting collaborator Bernie Taupin.”

Rocket Man and the Prince biopic are yet to have their release dates announced.
