Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3: Yondu to return from the DEAD? Michael Rooker SPEAKS OUT
The big blue alien died in an emotional scene at the conclusion to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, but is he really gone?
Of course the nature of comic book characters usually always leaves room for resurrection.
Just look at those who “died” in Marvel‘s Avengers Infinity War who have future solo movies like Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and Black Panther.
Yondu star Rooker appeared at Salt Lake City’s FanX convention where he was asked about reprising his character in the MCU.
He said: “It depends on how much I got paid.
“Of course I would totally love to do it again, it would be awesome.”
The actor joked about how his “mortgage wept” when his character was killed off by Guardians of the Galaxy writer and director James Gunn.
But just how could Yondu return when he’s very much dead and buried?
Rooker suggested: “No, I’m just saying. I’m not giving any hints right now. “I’m just saying that Yondu has moved on… There’s this arrow and it flew off into space.
“It’s going somewhere right? I mean, right? Don’t you think?
“If it’s going it could, maybe, perhaps one day come back. Hint! That’s a hint, Marvel!”
The only problem for Rooker is that Gunn has been fired as director as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 over controversial tweets he wrote 10 years ago.
In fact Drax star Dave Bautista recently revealed the film is on permanent hold.
And let’s not forget that as it stands Rocket and Nebula are the only surviving members of Thanos’ snap at the moment.
With this Gunn issue, who’s to say those characters will come back now?
