A Star Is Born: Lady Gaga breaks down in tears over new movie – for THIS reason
The artist has picked up spectacular reviews for the film, in which she co-stars with Bradley Cooper – also the director.
During a question and answer session, co-star Lukas Nelson heaped praise on her performance, which she clearly found deeply moving.
“You just destroyed every single scene you were in,” he said.
When she went to respond to the comment, the crowd erupted in a huge applause, making Gaga incredibly tearful.
A Star Is Born has begun picking up strong Oscars buzz; and in fact it’s the most awards-related speculation any movie of the current cycle has had so far.
Cooper and Gaga’s performances, as well as the music and Cooper’s direction, have all sparked chatter over whether it could sweep the board when the Academy gives out those iconic statuettes in early 2019.
The popstar is quoted as telling the gathered audience: “This was the greatest artistic experience of my career.
“Working with [Cooper], working with every single person on this stage, connecting with everyone, yes, I’m interested in acting more, but I am spoiled. I’ll tell you something, I am spoiled.
“These are some talented, passionate people up here. They put every last drop of blood from their heart and their veins on set every single day.
“I watched [Bradley] work tirelessly on this film, giving it everything, and you never stopped. Nobody here did.”
2018 is, incidentally, Gaga’s tenth year in the public eye: her debut single Just Dance hit its decade anniversary in April, and her first album The Fame came out ten years ago last month.
“There has been a galaxy of change,” Gaga told Vogue of the time that has since passed.
“I would just say that it’s been a nonstop whirlwind. And when I am in an imaginative or creative mode, it sort of grabs me like a sleigh with a thousand horses and pulls me away and I just don’t stop working.
“You make friends, you lose friends, you build tighter bonds with people you’ve known for your whole life.
“But there’s a lot of emotional pain, and you can’t really understand what it all means until ten years has gone by.”
A Star Is Born is out on October 5.
