A Star Is Born UK release date: When is Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper movie out in cinemas?

The drama – a remake of the 1937 movie of the same name, previously remade in 1954 and 1976 – has a huge 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is already earning talk of potential Oscars nominations.

It’s frustratingly common for awards season contenders to get autumn releases in the US but not see the light of day in the UK until early the following year.

But fortunately, that’s not the case here – and A Star Is Born will actually be out on the same day in both the UK and USA.

That day is only a few short weeks away: it’s October 5.

Fans in France will be able to watch the movie on October 3, and in Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Croatia, Hungary, Netherlands, Russia and Singapore it’s out on October 4.

In addition to the UK and USA, October 5 is the release date in Bulgaria, Estonia, Ireland, Lithuania and Sweden.

According to IMDb, Taiwan will get the movie on October 9, the Philippines on October 10 and Brazil, Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Ukraine will get it on October 11.

In Norway it’s out on October 12, and in Australia and Colombia it follows on October 18.

Australian moviegoers can see the hit on October 18, as can those in Colombia; while it’s out in Finland on October 18.

Argentina will see the film released on October 25, and South Africa on October 26.

The Polish release date follows on November 30 and Japan much later; on December 21.

Cooper is not only the leading man in the new telling of the iconic story – he’s also the director.

“Anytime you’re trying to tell the truth you need to go to places and use things that have happened to you, or you’ve read about or experienced,” he said at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere.

“And that’s all part of the beauty of turning whatever things you’ve gone through into a story. I find that to be very cathartic.

“I remember learning that in grad school, our teacher said all the insecurities, all the dark stuff you get to use that and that’s really the truth.”

A Star Is Born is out on October 5.
