Ant-Man and the Wasp AVENGERS cameos: How many cameos are there? Director reveals all

Ant-Man and the Wasp is about to hit cinemas on July 5.

Fans already know that it is one of only two films, alongside Captain Marvel, bridging the gap between Avengers 3 and 4.

Early screening teasers have confirmed that something major happens in one of the end credit scenes.

Is it a link to Avengers 4, a revelation about how the heroes can reverse the Snap, a lead in to Captain Marvel or another cameo? Everyone knows how the MCU loves to cross-polinate its movies with guest appearances in the closing credits scenes…

WARNING SPOLERS AHEAD:

Leaks from the advance screenings already revealed that one of the end credit scenes is simply the clip alread shown in teasers and trailer spots, showing one of Scott Lang’s ants playing the drums.

The other is apparently something fans “won’t want to miss.” Another post said the scene is “all I can think about now.”

Cinemablend asked the Ant-Man2 director about the inclusion of Avengers cameos in his new movie.

Peyton Reed said: “I always envisioned this as a standalone movie. Obviously when you see the movie you’ll see how it ties into the larger universe, but I like that Hope and Scott and Hank are operating in this little corner of the universe.

“And I like that because it reminds me of the comics where you have the Avengers doing something here, and Spider-Man is doing something, and Black Panther is doing something, and Iron Man… they’ve got their own thing…

“And this felt like… we had enough characters to service in this movie.”

Of course, he could be playing coy. Nobody knew about Falcon’s cameo in the first movie until he flew into view.

However, it seems likely that the Ant-Man movies will continue their joyous independent streak, albeit covering the Quantum Realm which fans are absolutely convinced will play a huge part in the resolution of Avengers 4.

So, what can possibly happen in that tantalising second end credit scene?
