Ant-Man and the Wasp is another smash hit for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Taking place between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, the movie finds Ant-Man under house arrest.

The movie is still in cinemas, but can you watch Ant-Man and the Wasp on Netflix?

Not yet, but you will be able to soon.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will likely follow the pattern Marvel has set out with previous movies.

The average wait between the Marvel movies cinema release and subsequent Netflix release is eight to nine months.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will likely arrive on Netflix between March and April 2019, or in the UK April and May 2019.

Netflix is perhaps the biggest International streaming giant, with movies and TV series from all over the world housed on the site.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR RELEASE ON DIGITAL HD: WHEN IS IT RELEASED?

Marvel movies have long lived on Netflix, with a lucrative deal struck between the production house and Netflix.

But Disney’s plans to release its own streaming service have made fans dubious about their access to Marvel flicks.

The New York Times took a microscope to the work behind the scenes of Disney’s streaming service.

The paper wrote: “Starting with Captain Marvel in March [2019], all of the films that Walt Disney Studios releases in theatres will subsequently flow to the Disney streaming platform instead of to Netflix.”

There are “no current plans” to move Marvel-themed television shows off Netflix, a Disney spokeswoman said.

According to a Bloomberg report from last week Disney has been trying to buy back rights to the older Star Wars films from Turner Broadcasting.

Rumblings about the Disney streaming service have been going for months, with speculation turning to confirmation.

Disney has not released any salient details like price points or international licensing.

AVENGERS 4: DID MARVEL LEAK NEW THEORY ABOUT IRON MAN AND THANOS?

In addition to the Marvel movies move, Disney is planning a live-action Star Wars show from Jon Favreau.

The studio is also planning originals based on properties like Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and Monsters Inc.,

A new Marvel show is also set to be in the works, but the ones currently on Netflix are, so far, confirmed to remain on Netflix.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is now playing in cinemas. Avengers 4 is in cinemas April 26, 2019.
