Ant-Man and the Wasp follows dutifully in the footsteps set by many other Marvel movies before it, making use of post-credit scenes with aplomb.

How many end-credit scenes does Ant-Man and the Wasp have?

With Ant-Man and the Wasp now released in the USA, we can confirm the sequel has one mid-credit scene and one post-credits scene.

Ant-Man’s sequel had its world premiere on in Los Angeles, California on June 25.

Prior to this, a leak posted on Reddit may have revealed some information about the post-credit scenes.

The Reddit user claimed the after credit scene is likely to take place in the direct aftermath of Thanos’ snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.

The post continued, saying Ant-Man and the Wasp’s after credit scenes would show what Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) was doing during Avengers: Infinity War.

Putting Hawkeye in Ant-Man and the Wasp’s post-credit scenes would help connect the two superheroes for the upcoming Avengers 4 movie.

The untitled Avengers movie will include both Hawkeye and Ant-Man as prominent characters.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD FOR ANT-MAN AND THE WASP

In the mid-credits scene, Scott, Hope, Janet, and Hank are reunited and, despite the unpredictable nature of the Quantum Realm, the group appear to be conducting some sort of experiment.

Ant-Man is meant to collect particles from the Quantum Realm, though why remains unspecified.

While Scott shrinks down to his ant size, Hope, Janet, and Hank wait, eventually losing contact with Scott.

Eventually, he comes back on the communication device, and then the point of view changes.

The audience sees Scott collecting particles but when he attempts to contact the rest of his team he gets radio silence.

When the point of view shifts back to the real world Hope, Janet, and Hank have been reduced to three piles of ash.

Fans shouldn’t be too concerned about their fates, given it seems highly probably Thanos’ snap will be in some way reversed.

The end credit scene is slightly sillier, taking inspiration perhaps from Deadpool 2.

The attention moves to the ant in Scott’s house, wearing the house-arrest anklet.

He gives the audience one last drum solo before the words “Ant-Man and the Wasp will return” appear on the screen.

However, a question mark appears, clearly adding another level of doubt in the minds of all Marvel fans.

Fans in the UK will have to wait a little while longer to see these scenes for themselves.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is in UK cinemas Thursday, August 2, 2018.
