Aquaman movie TRAILER: Here’s when Jason Mamoa’s Justice League spin-off teaser arrives
He cameoed in Batman v Superman and starred in Justice League and now Aquaman, like Wonder Woman before him, is getting this own solo movie.
Released this Christmas, DCEU fans have been wondering when they’ll get their first look at Mamoa’s King of Atlantis in action.
Well now director James Wan has taken to Twitter to reveal the first Aquaman trailer will arrive to coincide with San Diego Comic-Con.
The filmmaker wrote: “Comic-Con will be insane!! This is the new glyph/logo.
“Freshly smuggled out of Atlantis! (stolen off King Orm’s belt buckle).”
The image attached showed the new Aquaman logo with the words “trailer debut” above San Diego Comic Con.
This year’s fan event takes place from July 19-22, so DC fans will have to wait just over a month for the Aquaman trailer to land online.
Nevertheless the Aquaman trailer screened at CineEurope last week where Russia’s @Kinometro gave a teaser of what was shown.
The outlet wrote: “Full of not just traditional action and mind-bending VFX but good humour also.
“The unusually brighter visuals also caught the eye, rarely encountered with DC.”
The inclusion of humour and brighter colours could be a step towards Marvel’s tone, which has been a much more successful franchise compared to DC with its recent flops.
The official synopsis for Aquaman reads: “Following the events of Justice League, Arthur Curry, the reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, is caught in a battle between surface dwellers that threaten his oceans and his own people, who are ready to lash out and invade the surface.”
The film also stars Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko and Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna.
Aquaman is released in UK cinemas on December 14, 2018.
