Avengers 4: PROOF Ant-Man and the Wasp is set JUST before Avengers Infinity War? – WATCH
Marvel fans have known for months now that Ant-Man and the Wasp is set after Captain America: Civil War and before Avengers Infinity War.
However where exactly within that two year period has been something of a mystery.
But now a new TV spot for Ant-Man 2 has arrived called War and it asks just where the shrinking superhero was during Infinity War.
Fans will remember Ant-Man was mentioned in the Marvel epic as being under house arrest, having made a deal to be able to see his family – just like Hawkeye.
This follows on from his incarceration at then of Captain America: Civil War when a rogue Steve Rogers freed him.
So presumably Scott Lang was recaptured and put under house arrest at some point.
Anyway, the new TV spot for Ant-Man and the Wasp sees Scott bored at home.
An FBI agent asks him: “Two years under house arrest, you haven’t had any contact with Hank or Hope have you?”
A line like this will certainly raise some fan eyebrows as Civil War was set in 2016 and Avengers Infinity in 2018.
We know this because in Infinity War Tony Stark referred to the Battle of New York as being six years ago i.e. 2012 when Avengers Assemble was released.h
And with a two year gap presumably Ant-Man and the Wasp is set directly before Avengers Infinity War.
So basically it’s Rogue One? Maybe they’ll even overlap towards the end of Ant-Man 2.
Ant-Man and the Wasp will be released in UK cinemas on August 3, 2018.
