Avengers 4 star and Meghan Markle's BFF Priyanka Chopra cast in Cowboy Ninja Viking movie
Marvel fans are still desperately trying to work out if and how Pratt’s Star-Lord can possibly come back from being dusted at the end of Infinity War.
The Guardians of the Galaxy frontman will definitely be back on screen next year, though, in the equally bonkers sounding Cowboy Ninja Viking movie.
The clue really is in the title since the Aussie action man really will be playing those three characters, but in a slightly unusual fashion.
He will be joined by Bollywood star Chopra in the movie based on the classic graphic novel.
The Hollywood Reporter said: “Based on the Image Comics graphic novel by A.J. Lieberman and illustrator Riley Rossmo, the story revolves around a counter-intelligence unit formed by psychotherapist Dr. Sebastian Ghislain, who transforms agents known as Triplets, a reference to multiple personalities.
“Pratt is playing a formidable agent with the fighting skills and personalities of a cowboy, a ninja, and a viking.”
Chopra is a hugely uccessful actress but may be more famous in the UK right now for being close friends with Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.
Although Chopra’s casting can be seen as a sign of increasing diversity and inclusion in Hollywood, disappointingly so far her character sounds like a generic prop for the male hero.
THR added: “Priyanka Chopra has landed the female lead opposite Chris Pratt in Universal’s Cowboy Ninja Viking. The Quantico star will play the love interest of Pratt in the big-budget tentpole.”
Chopra’s work on Quantico has established her as a headliner in her own right and she even managed to emarge from the disatrous Baywatch with most of her dignity and credibility intact.
