Avengers 4 title release date revealed but Marvel boss warns it will DISAPPOINT fans

The film won’t be called Avengers Forever. The title will not be revealed after the Ant-Man and the Wasp end credits. 

These were just two of the most prevalent recent rumours.

Fan anticipation is sky-high, especially after the Avengers Infinity War makers teased that they would not release the sequel’s title until long after Avengers 3 hit cinemas because it would reveal too much.

Now it seems the Marvel machine is finally at risk of running foul of its own hype.

Marcel Cinematic Universe boss Kevin Feige has just admitted fans still have a painful wait to find out the all-revealing name of the final movie in the huge 22-film arc.

He told Collider: “That’ll be after the Captain Marvel teaser probably, announcing that title. It’ll be towards the end of the year with however we launch that film (Captain Marvel).”

This is a huge disappointment for fans who were expecting the revelation any day now, since Infinity War is finally reaching the end of its phenomenally successful theatrical run.

But there is even more bad news…

Feige has warned that the film title may not be as important or revealing as it was hyped to be.

He told IGN: “I’ve said before, it’s gotten entirely out of hand. And now will have no chance to living up to any expectations of what it’s gonna be.

“And it sort of backfired, if I’m honest with you, because the notion was to not talk about it so the focus was to be on [Infinity War].”

It seems the title wasn’t being held back because it contains clues or spoilers for either Avengers 3 or 4, after all.

Marvel fans still have plenty to look forward to, with Ant-Man and the Wasp hitting cinemas this summer and promising direct links to the main Avengers movies.

Besides, it’s not like Feige and Marvel took an iconic character and had him toss his lightsaber off a cliff, literally or figuratively.

Fans will forgive all the hype in the world as long as the movies live up to expectations and the MCU has barely put a foot wrong yet.
