Avengers 4 will introduce the ETERNALS? Two huge clues for Marvel Phase 4

Fans need to be prepared for more loss.

Infinity War already devastated worldwide audiences and even if some of those characters are somehow brought back, many will be leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon.

Kevin Feige and his team have been very clear that Phase Four will focus on some of the newer heroes but also introduce some major new ones as old favourites bow out.

Huge new release news from Marvel comics has just gave a massive clue about who and what is coming next.

Feige already declared that Captain Marvel will take the central role as the franchise moves forward, replacing Iron Man and Captain America.

Black Panther, Spider-Man and even Doctor Strange will all continue with their own individual movie storylines, plus the hugely anticipated Black Widow spin-off.

However they are all primarily Earth-based. The Guardians of the Galaxy arc will end with the third movie – which leaves a giant cosmic hole in the MCU.

Look who Marvel just revived for a new release this August…

Last month Jason Aaron’s Avengers #2 included the first reference to The Eternals in comics for years.

The third issue just landed and directly announces The Eternals are on their way when Iron Man says he has “a date with the Eternals.”

His mention of the ‘Celestial field’ also give a tantalising hint that the MCU may continue to explore those characters like Star-Lord’s father Ego.

This combines with the new announcement that Marvel will be reprinting Neil Gaiman and John Romita’s iconic The Eternals stories this August, with new adventures expected to follow.

This is clear advance warning that the cosmic band of heroes will also be heading for the big screen as the clear heirs to the departing Guardians.

It seems unlikley Marvel will have time to cast and shoot a scene with an entire new group of superheroes when principal photography is already complete for Avengers 4.

They may be referenced in the movie but fans should expect their on screen debut to happen in Guardians of the Galaxy 3, even if it is as an end credits scene.
