Avengers Ant-Man and the Wasp deaths: Who DIES in Ant-Man 2? Huge Infinity War links

How many more deaths can one franchise inflict on its poor audience?

Fans are still reeling from the catastrophic losses at the end of Infinity War – and a few brutal ones earlier in the movie – but now Ant-Man and the Wasp had added to the terrible total. 

Scott Lang’s adventures are usually at the lighter end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but even this breezy blockbuster has a sting in its tail.

And the real shocks actually do come at the tail-end of the movie in the much-touted mid-credit scene.

Although it features very little overlap with the main MCU, Ant-Man 2 features four major Marvel heroes.

As well as Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly’s titular characters, it’s worth remembering that Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) were the two previous incarnations of those heroes.

The film also introduces Ghost.

The end credit scene shows three of these character turn to dust in The Snap.

While Scott Lang pops into the Quantum Realm on a quick routine mission to collect particles, The Snap suddenly reverberates across the universe.

The scene shows Hope and Hank Pym, plus Janet Van Dyne all crumble to dust.

Frustratingly, the movie doesn’t reveal what happens to the Ghost, or Scott’s comedy sidekicks Luis, Dave and Kurt. We know that an older actress has been cast as Scott’s daughter Cassie in Avengers 4 so it is likely she survived.

This fact, combined with Janet’s blatant comments about the Time Vortex inside the Quantum Realm, have fuelled fan theories that there will be a time jump forward at the start of Avengers 4.

Ant-Man has also been shown in the first Avengers 4 concept art, and leaked images of the superhero in New York indicate some kind of time travel back to the barttle at the end of the first Avengers movie.

As for those who died, as always fans are sure they will all be somehow restored but nobody has a clear clue yet how.
