Avengers Infinity War and Star Wars win NOTHING at MTV Movie Awards as Black Panther soars

The Chadwick Boseman-fronted Marvel smash won four prizes out of seven nominations at the prizegiving ceremony in the US last night, which celebrated the best of the big screen and the small screen.

Infinity War and The Last Jedi, despite being nominated three times each, won nothing.

Black Panther took Best Movie, beating AIW, Girls Trip, It and Wonder Woman; while Boseman won Best Performance in a Movie over Timothée Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name), Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver), Daisy Ridley (Last Jedi) and Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird).

Boseman also scooped Best Hero, beating Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Grant Gustin (The Flash) and Ridley; while Black Panther’s Erik Killmonger star Michael B Jordan scooped Best Villain over Josh Brolin (Infinity War), Adam Driver (Last Jedi), Aubrey Plaza (Legion) and Bill Skarsgard (It).

Elsewhere, Best On-Screen Team was handed to the Losers’ Club in It, over combinations from Balck Panther, Jumanji, Ready Player One and Stranger Things.

Letitia Wright was beaten to Scene Stealer by Riverdale’s Madelaine Petsch, with Stranger Things’ Dacre Montgomery, Thor Ragnarok’s Taika Waititi and Girls Trip’s Tiffany Haddish also nominated.

Best Fight saw Gadot win for Wonder Woman, beating sequences from Atomic Blonde, Infinity War, Black Panther and Thor: Ragnarok.
