Avengers Infinity War easter egg: Did you spot the HIDDEN Captain Marvel Easter Egg?

Marvel has turned a cinematic trope into its own piece of art – the post credit scene.

Whether used as a teaser for an upcoming movie or a spot of humour, MCU has mastered the now expected movie device.

Avengers fans were quick to spot the Captain Marvel Eater egg in Infinity War’s post-credit scene.

But did you spot the Captain Marvel Easter Egg HIDDEN in plain sight?

The Easter egg in question comes during the battle scene where Cull Obsidian and Ebony Maw (members of Thanos’ Black Order) come to New York to challenge Tony Stark, Wong and Doctor Strange for the Time Stone.

Eagle-eyed fans were drawn to something Cull Obsidian was wearing – a scarf tied to his waist whose colours were remarkably familiar.

A red, blue, and gold-lined pattern on this piece of cloth seemed inconspicuous at first, but it didn’t take long for fans to draw a connection to Captain Marvel.

The sash, which to the casual fan seems inconspicuous, has a long history in the comics.

When Carol Danvers became Captain Marvel, her costume was inspired by the outfit of the Kree alien Mar-Vell, from whom she gained her powers.

If the sash Cull Obsidian was wearing is indeed Captain Marvel’s own, then this could have dire implications for Avengers 4 and Captain Marvel’s solo movie.

One Reddit user, in particular, said: “I think a reasonable assumption is that Cull Obsidian has a personal tie to the same faction that Captain Marvel is aligned with.”

Some fan theorists have speculated Cull Obsidian may have won the fabric from Captain Marvel in a past fight.

Given Captain Marvel’s solo movie will be set in the 1990s, it’s more than possible Cull Obsidian won the piece of material and held onto it as a victory trophy all these years.

Another explanation of how Cull Obsidian may have come by this fabric has to do with the prevailing theory which states time travel will be key to the Avengers 4 plot.

If time travel is the crux of Avengers 4, there’s no end to the ways, and whens, in which Cull Obsidian could have obtained the cloth.

Other fans think the scarf tied to his waist is just a coincidence, and this whole theory is a storm in a teacup.

But Marvel doesn’t do anything by coincidences.
