Avengers Infinity War end credits: Why did fans go crazy over Nick Fury's phone call?

Avengers: Infinity War’s final moments were crushing for Marvel Cinematic Universe fans all over the world.

However, fans were given a bit of salve in the post-credit tease.

The absolute last moment of the movie introduced a new character who may be able to save everyone – but why did fans go crazy over Nick Fury’s phone call?

As the full aftermath of Infinity War is beginning to be felt by Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) he quickly moves to send a signal which could be the final hope for the Avengers.

Fans rightly went nuts over the image on the device Fury used to send his call for help.

The retro-looking pager shows a star on a red and blue background — Captain Marvel’s Symbol.

The introduction of Carol Susan Jane Danvers, later known as Captain Marvel, into the MCU is definitely a cause for celebration.

Brie Larson is set to star as Captain Marvel in her solo movie, set for release on Friday, March 8, 2019.

Though her solo movie is set during the 1990s, she is also slated to cameo (at the very least) in Avengers 4.

Fans expect the remaining heroes in Avengers 4 will find a way to reverse Thanos’ snap and bring their friends back from non-existence.

The addition of Captain Marvel to the Avengers family could be the solution to the problem of how these heroes will be resurrected.

Captain Marvel is an ex-pilot from earth whose DNA was infused with her Kree alien co-pilot’s during an explosion, granting her superhuman powers.

The Captain Marvel solo film follows the origin story of Danvers as she transforms into Captain Marvel.

During an intergalactic battle between Earth and two alien worlds, an explosion occurs and her partner, a Kree alien named Mar-Vell does his best to protect her.

The result? Mar-Vell’s DNA fused with her own, granting her these superhuman powers.

AVENGERS 4: IS LOKI IN AVENGERS 4?

The Marvel comic book universe has seen Captain Marvel as both an ally and an actual member Avengers, so her appearance in the Cinematic universe is plausible.

One Reddit user, TruthOfAlecius, pointed out in the comics there is a seventh stone called the Ego Stone, which Captain Marvel could use to bring down Thanos.

In addition to the possibility of using the Ego stone the Quantum Realm, a space between atoms where time and space are irrelevant, could be a key to the whole Avengers problem.

Fans speculate the heroes are not really dead but trapped in another realm.

AVENGERS 4: WHAT WILL GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY’S ROLE BE IN AVENGERS 4?

Reddit user accountfornerdstuff wrote they think it is possible if Captain Marvel and Ant-Man work together.

Another asset Captain Marvel brings to Avengers 4 is her ability to enter a state called Binary.

As Binary, Danvers is capable of tapping into the energy of a “white hole: the opposite of a black hole.

This would give her full control of stellar energies and could, therefore, control the electromagnetic spectrum and gravity.

She is also capable of attaining light speed travel and the ability to survive in the vacuum of space.

These tools can only be helpful if time travel and Quantum Realm travel are key to Avengers 4.

Will Captain Marvel return Nick Fury’s call and rescue the Avengers?

We’ll have to wait for Spring 2019 to find out.
