Have fans really had their last looky at Loki?

Hiddleston was on stage at the Ace San Diego Comic Con and revealed all about those harrowing last moments on screen when Thanos killed the Asgardian anti-hero.

He said: “We filmed it in April last year. It was three days.. The Russos were incredibly generous.

“They knew the emotional weight of it. They were both like ‘Oh, this is a big scene’…”

He added: “The moment itself was really emotional and the Russo came up and they were like, ‘Respect.’”

Fans have been convinced that Loki will somehow wriggle out of his latest death because he has already ‘died’ before during his rollercoaster MCU ride.

One popular theory suggest that the master of magic used his skills to fake it, and since Thanos did not have the Realty Stone at the time he would not have been able to pierce the illusion.

It may all be wishful thinking, though, after Hiddleston revealed he had known how Loki’s death was coming for some years before he filmed the moment.

Hiddlestone said at Ace (via Movieweb): “So, I’ve known about that scene for two years.

“I met with Marvel in May 2016, and they were actually telling me the story of Ragnarok with concept art and images. The Russos came in, and I introduced myself. So, all four of us sat down, and they said this is how Infinity War begins…

“My whole journey through making Thor: Ragnarok, I knew this was coming. By the end of Thor: Ragnarok, Loki has been accepted as Thor’s brother again…

“When I came to shoot the scene in Infinity War, I think it’s very powerful he calls himself an Odinson, and that closes the whole journey of Loki.”

It’s the last phrase that has fans worried. Has Loki really closed his whole journey?

There is still hope, though. Leaked images from the Avengers 4 set have shown Loki, although it is a scene from the battle of New York in Avengers 1 so may be a flashback or time travel moment which does not mean the god will be also back in the present day.

Time of course is the key, in that we will only know for sure when Avengers 4 hits cinemas next April.
