Avengers Infinity War viewer 'dies from suspected heart attack' while watching movie
The Marvel fan suffered a suspected heart attack, according to The Times of India.
Peddapasupula Baasha, 43, was watching the movie in Proddatur when he is believed to have entered cardiac arrest, brought on by natural causes.
He was found by staff, who had initially assumed he stayed behind after the film to watch the post-credits scene.
His body has reportedly been sent to a local government hospital for post-mortem, with the investigation ongoing.
Avengers: Infinity War has rapidly become one of the biggest films of 2018, beating The Fate of the Furious’s record for the biggest global opening weekend ever.
It also surpassed Star Wars: The Force Awakens to win the top-grossing opening weekend in North America, although the former film holds on to the record for best opening day.
Infinity War has now taken more than $725 million at the worldwide box office, already surpassing several of its Marvel predecessors.
It could remain unchallenged at the box office for much of May, until Deadpool 2 is released.
Infinity War will be followed next year by Avengers 4, which is expected to reunite much of the cast.
Until that is released, we will have Ant-Man And The Wasp in July, and Captain Marvel – set in the 1990s – next March.
The title of Avengers 4 has not yet been revealed, with directors the Russo Brothers and Marvel CEO Kevin Feige wanting to keep the focus on Infinity War for the time being.
Today marks the ten-year anniversary of the MCU: Iron Man, in which Robert Downey Jr first played Tony Stark, came out on May 2, 2008.
It has since been followed by 18 more movies in the series, split across three Phases.
Avengers: Infinity War is out now.
