Avengers Infinity War: What the Soul Stone can do in Avengers 4 finally REVEALED – WATCH
Up until Avengers Infinity War was released Marvel fans knew the location and ability of five out of six of the Infinity Stones – but the Soul Stone remained a complete mystery.
That was until the Marvel epic saw Thanos travel to the planet Vormir and exchange Gamora’s life for said gem.
Nevertheless the actual purpose of the Soul Stone wasn’t made clear, with fans expecting Avengers 4 to reveal the answer.
However a new featurette for the home release of Avengers Infinity War has finally unveiled the truth.
The video goes through all six stones explaining their abilities, including the Soul Stone.
The caption reads: “The Soul Stone controls life and death.”
This information is especially intriguing considering how Avengers Infinity War ended.
The Marvel epic saw half the universe turn to ash when Thanos had gathered all six stones and snapped his fingers in the Infinity Gauntlet.
Knowing the Soul Stone can control life and death, surely this is the key to reversing Thanos’ snap and bringing the dead back to life.
Nevertheless directors the Russo brothers have teased a great cost to do this.
So the most obvious option is for the surviving Avengers to trade places with the dead.
Fans are especially concerned for Iron Man and Captain America, wondering if they will both kick the bucket.
Both Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans’ contracts with Marvel Studios end after Avengers 4 so they’re going to bow out somehow.
Avengers 4 is released in UK cinemas on April 26, 2019.
