Batman: Could Jon Hamm replace Ben Affleck? Mad Men star SPEAKS OUT

The current state of the DC movies seems very much in flux at the moment.

War For The Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves has penned a Batman solo movie script, but with a younger Dark Knight in mind, it looks like Affleck is out.

That is unless the film is a prequel or set in another universe.

After all, there are currently two live-action Jokers in the form of Jared Leto and Joaquin Phoenix.

Whatever happens, there’s one actor who would be keen to play the next Batman, and that’s Hamm.

The Mad Men star is 47-years-old, a year older than Affleck, but if Warner Bros want to continue with a middle-aged Caped Crusader he’d certainly be a good fit.

Appearing on In Depth with Graham Bensinger, Hamm revealed he wouldn’t exactly say no to such an opportunity.

The star said: “It depends on the script, what the story is.”

Hamm continued: “I am a huge comic book fan, always have been. 

“I have read comic books since I was nine or younger. And I am pretty knowledgeable about a lot of them. 

“And I like the genre, and I like when they are done well… I’d probably fit the suit. 

“I’d have to work out a lot, which I don’t love.”

The actor added: “But, I am sure there is an interesting version of that being out there. 

“And if they wanted to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to do it: why not?”

But Batman isn’t the only superhero who could be recast soon, with reports yesterday claiming Henry Cavill was done with Superman.

However the star’s agent has tweeted out that he’s not done just yet.

The actor’s agent Dany Garcia tweeted yesterday: “Be peaceful, the cape is still in his closet.

“@wbpictures has been and continues to be our partners as they evolve the DC Universe. Anticipate a WB statement later today.”

Meanwhile Cavill posted a cryptic video of himself to Instagram wearing a Krypton Lifting Team T-shirt, while lifting a Superman doll.

It’s unclear what he was trying to get across, but his fans are hopeful he’s not done playing the Man of Steel just yet.
