Batman: Will Oscar Isaac star in the NEW Batman movie?
Matt Reeve’s The Batman is one of the most anticipated DC Comics adaptations to come.
After several failed attempts at reviving the caped crusader in the wake of Christian Bale’s exit, Warner Bros is trying something new.
With a standalone Joker movie starring Joaquin Phoenix, a female fronted Birds of Prey movie with Margot Robbie, and Aquaman and Wonder Woman breathing new life into the Justice League, WB has been busy.
But now, Omega Underground has reported another name being added to the expanding list of Batman actors.
Will Oscar Isaac star in the new Batman movie?
Sources confirmed to Omega Underground the Star Wars actor was in talks to play an unnamed role in The Batman movie.
No salient details have been confirmed yet, but the sources add Isaac seems very interested in the role.
However, no one knows what this role may be.
Some think The Penguin is a villain that very well could show up in the new movie.
Isaac has played both good, bad, and morally grey, lending him to be an easy fit for either the good guy or the baddie in The Batman.
Trade reports have suggested a younger actor will be playing Bruce Wayne (aka Batman) which has lead to the assumption Ben Affleck won’t be reprising the role.
Oscar Isaac rose to prominence for his portrayal of the eponymous haggard guitarist in Inside Llewyn Davis.
He gained international fame when he joined the cast of Star Wars as resident fly boy Poe Dameron.
Isaac also starred in Ex Machina, Annihilation, and The Promise, and appeared as Hamlet in New York City’s Public Theatre.
Besides currently filming for Star Wars: Episode 9, Isaac is also starring in the upcoming Operation Finale, as well as Life Itself.
The Batman director Matt Reeves has remained tight-lipped about the movie, so few details are known.
However, earlier reports suggested Batman could take some important story cues from Frank Miller’s Batman: Year One in the same way Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins did.
While rumours will continue to turn to fact and theories get debunked, there is still plenty to get excited about for the DC Comics-based movies.
Aquaman and the Wonder Woman sequel (Wonder Woman 1984) are both hotly anticipated movies.
Not to mention the cast list for the standalone Joker movie has filled out, with the recent addition of Alec Baldwin to the fold.
