Blade Runner SHOCK: ‘Cast were in confused SILENCE after first screening of original film’
Later this year Blade Runner 2049 arrives a full 35 years after the original film, with Ford reprising his role as Rick Deckard.
Now one of the first film’s cast members, M Emmet Walsh has revealed that the cast and crew of Blade Runner didn’t understand the movie, despite it nowadays regularly coming near the top of best movie ever polls.
The 82-year-old actor, who played Captain Harry Bryant, told the Hollywood Reporter about the awkward moment.
He revealed: “We all sat there and it ended. And nothing.”
Walsh continued: “We didn’t know what to say or to think or do! We didn’t know what in the hell we had done!
“The only one who seemed to get it was Ridley [Scott, the director].”
The actor also seems unenthusiastic about the upcoming Blade Runner 2049, having seen the latest trailer released last week.
He said: “I thought the trailer looked interesting. If you look at the original Blade Runner, it is considerably slower than that trailer.
Walsh added: “I thought Harrison looked good in the shots I saw of him. I don’t know who the kid [Ryan Gosling] is.
“If someone sends me a free ticket, I would probably go see it, but I don’t know if I would spend 11 dollars or whatever it is to see it.”
