BREAKING: Philippines island of Mindanao hit by MASSIVE quake as Ring of Fire put on ALERT
A 6.2 magnitude quake was recorded by the United States Geological Survey.
The natural occurrence hit at a depth of 61 km (38 miles), about 128 km (80 miles) east of the island’s key city of Davao.
The Philippines are a part of the Ring of Fire, also called the Circum-Pacific belt, where about 90 per cent of the world’s earthquakes occur.
Between 1990 and 2016, Scientists in California have analysed 101 major earthquakes around the Pacific Ring of Fire.
It is currently unknown if there were casualties from the earthquake.
