Brigitte Macron shows off legs in blue mini dress to meet U2’s Bono at Elysee Palace
Brigitte Macron, 65, was in Paris this evening attending a meeting to discuss aid development between Africa and Europe.
Taking place at the Elysee Palace, the meeting included another very famous face, the lead singer of Irish rock band U2, Bono.
Along with Bono, who is the co-founder of the non-profit organisation, One, Brigitte’s husband Emmanuel was also at the meeting.
For the occasion, the 65-year-old showed off her long, slender legs in an age-defying blue mini dress.
Hiding under a coat of the same colour, the dress was in a dark blue/purple hue, and featured a high neckline and structured frame.
Coming to just above her knees, the dress showed off the First Lady’s slender, tanned legs, an asset she frequently shows off.
Protecting her from the chill, Brigitte wore an elegant dress coat on top of the dress, cinched in at the waist with an A-line shape.
On her feet she wore a sky-high pair of blue pointed toe stilettos, perfectly matching the rest of her ensemble.
In classic Brigitte fashion, she wore her blonde hair in her signature bouncy blow dry.
She kept her makeup simple opting for just a subtle smokey eye, barely there foundation and a nude lip.
Always one to add an edgy touch to any outfit, the timeless blonde wore a selection of dazzling, eye-catching silver stacked ring on her fingers.
Brigitte was pictured alongside her husband beaming as they met with the Irish rockstar.
The French President seemed particularly elated, showing off his pearly whites and looking excitable around Bono.
The 58-year-old musician was at the event as he is the co-founder of the charity, One.
One aims to fight extreme poverty and stop preventable diseases in Africa.
The meeting in the Elysee Palace hoped to forge a better development partnership between Europe and Africa.
The outfit was a stark contrast from the shimmering £1,612 cardigan Brigitte wore earlier today for a football match.
This morning Brigitte looked animated as she cheered France to victory against the Netherlands for their first home football game since their World Cup win earlier this summer.
Clapping and laughing, the French first lady stood next to her husband Emmanuel in the packed Stade de France.
Knowing all eyes were on her, Brigitte chose to wear an attention-grabbing gold cashmere lame cardigan from Louis Vuitton.
The long-sleeved item, which featured a row of buttons down the front, costs an eye-watering £1,162 (€1,300).
Brigitte Macron: Five facts about the French President’s wife
Family
Brigitte Trogneux, as she was born, is the youngest of six children and grew up in Amiens, France.
Her parents were owners of Chocolaterie Trogneux, which had been run by five generations of the family and is now run by Brigitte’s nephew.
Previous marriage
Before her marriage to the current French President, Brigitte was married to a banker, André-Louis Auzière.
The couple wed in June 1974 and had three children before finally divorcing in January 2006. She married Emmanuel in 2007.
Career
Brigitte is famed for being her husband’s secondary school teacher, but she has had a varied working life.
In 1982 she was a press secretary at the Nord-Pas-de-Calais Chamber of Commerce, moving in to teaching two years later.
First Lady attempt
In 2017, Emmanuel made an attempt to give his wife an official paid role in French administration, as First Lady.
This was dashed, however, after an online petition against the move gained 300,000 signatures. Her role has stayed unofficial, although as with previous President’s wives, she does have a small team of staff.
Louis Vuitton
The French luxury fashion house began a relationship with Brigitte in 2015, loaning her outfits for public appearances.
Speaking to business news magazine Challenges, her team confirmed: “Everything has been noted in a register and the loan outs have been systematically returned. And she only wears their outfits for public appearances.”
