Brigitte Macron has taken a part in a TV series, a break with tradition.

The 65 year-old from Amiens, France, will appear in “Vestiaires”.

The show is a comedy programme which represents disability and is on TV on Thursday mornings at 11 am on France 2.

Brigitte plays her self in the three minute episode, which is set to be aired on Saturday at 20:45, reports La Parisien.

This is the first time a French First Lady has ever taken such a role.

Brigitte is said to be passionate about disability advocacy.

The First Lady was pictured with a star from the show, whose hand she held in the sweet image.

Brigitte wore a blue Louis Vuitton ensemble with a short hem.

The military inspired jacket featured gold buttons and she wore beige shoes and a beige bag.

They appeared to be filming in a swimming pool changing room.

This is were the humours programme is often set, as it focuses on two disabled swimmers who meet each week to exercise.

She and Emmanuel Macron, 40, were hosting Japan’s Crown Prince Naruhito for lavish dinner at the opulent palace on the outskirts of Paris.

Beaming, the trio posed for photos before the dinner, with Brigitte opting for a daring dress for the occasion.

Brigitte Macron recently wore a £1,162 cardigan to a football match with her husband.

Clapping and laughing, the French first lady stood next to her husband in the packed Stade de France.

Knowing all eyes were on her, Brigitte chose to wear an attention-grabbing gold cashmere lame cardigan from Louis Vuitton.

The long-sleeved item, which featured a row of buttons down the front, costs an eye-watering £1,162 (€1,300).

Making the most of the v-neck, Brigitte wore a delicate diamond necklace to highlight her décolletage.

Brigitte Macron: Five facts about the French President’s wife

Family

Brigitte Trogneux, as she was born, is the youngest of six children and grew up in Amiens, France.

Her parents were owners of Chocolaterie Trogneux, which had been run by five generations of the family and is now run by Brigitte’s nephew.

Previous marriage

Before her marriage to the current French President, Brigitte was married to a banker, André-Louis Auzière.

The couple wed in June 1974 and had three children before finally divorcing in January 2006. She married Emmanuel in 2007.

Career

Brigitte is famed for being her husband’s secondary school teacher, but she has had a varied working life.

In 1982 she was a press secretary at the Nord-Pas-de-Calais Chamber of Commerce, moving in to teaching two years later.

First Lady attempt

In 2017, Emmanuel made an attempt to give his wife an official paid role in French administration, as First Lady.

This was dashed, however, after an online petition against the move gained 300,000 signatures. Her role has stayed unofficial, although as with previous President’s wives, she does have a small team of staff.

Louis Vuitton

The French luxury fashion house began a relationship with Brigitte in 2015, loaning her outfits for public appearances.

Speaking to business news magazine Challenges, her team confirmed: “Everything has been noted in a register and the loan outs have been systematically returned. And she only wears their outfits for public appearances.”
