Captain Marvel NEW plot details – This is NOT your traditional superhero origin story

Set in the mid-1990s, the plot reads: “Captain Marvel sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, and when it begins, Carol already has her powers.

“She’s left her earthly life behind to join an elite Kree military team called Starforce, led by Jude Law’s enigmatic commander.

“But before long, Carol finds herself back on Earth with new questions about her past.

“And she’s got a formidable enemy in the form of the Skrulls — the notorious Marvel baddies made all the more dangerous by their shape-shifting abilities. Ben Mendelsohn plays their leader Talos, who spearheads a Skrull invasion of Earth.”

Captain Marvel was briefly referenced at the end of Avengers Infinity War when Nick Fury contacted her via a device, just before he turned to ash.

The dated tech revealed her logo, so it’s certain she’ll be aiding the Avengers in the fight against Thanos come Avengers 4.

However must mystery surrounds just where she is and where she’s been.

After all Nick Fury is in Captain Marvel and the next movie in the MCU time line is 2008’s Iron Man.

Since then there’s been almost 20 movies and not one has referenced Carol Danvers.

So what are the options?

Well she could be off world somewhere deep in outer space, she could be in another universe or what if the device contacted her in the past?

Whatever happens Captain Marvel is going to be quite the match for Thanos.

Captain Marvel is released in UK cinemas on March 8, followed by Avengers 4 on April 26, 2019.
