Who is playing Captain Marvel in the new movie?
The first Captain Marvel trailer debuted today on Good Morning America starring Brie Larson in the leading role as Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel).
The two-minute clip takes place in the mid-1990s and alongside Brie Larson, a host of A-listers are set to join the production, such as Jude Law, Samuel L. Jackson and Clark Gregg.
Earlier this month, Captain Marvel was unveiled in her costume to the public in a feature in Entertainment Weekly.
In the feature Captain Marvel already had her powers.
The teaser also gives a glimpse into Larson’s blue and red suit, inspired from the comic books.
And it was revealed Captain Marvel is going to play a big part in what’s to come in the next Avengers film.
The female superhero is ex-pilot Carol Danvers who gain superpowers after being in an accident and joins the intergalactic team Starforce, led by a character played by Jude Law.
The feature also confirmed Captain Marvel will run into characters from movies Guardian of the Galaxy and Avengers.
It was also made very clear that Carol Danvers will play a big role in the next Avengers film.
Captain Marvel marks the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series to feature a female lead.
The movie is due for release March 8, 2019, in the UK and US.
Who is Brie Larson – Captain Marvel actress?
Brianne Sidonie Desaulniers, better known as Brie Larsen is a 28-year-old actress from California, US.
The Californian is known for being extremely private about her personal life, and has previously explained her choice to stay out of the spotlight with that the privacy allows her to play a wide variety of parts without being typecast.
The blonde beauty’s first major role came in 2001 as Emily, the younger daughter of Bob Saget’s character in the WB sitcom Raising Dad.
The series lasted until 2008.
In 2009, Larsen played sardonic teenager Kate Gregson in the comedy-drama series United States of Tara.
Larson has said that her character’s journey to find meaning in life mirrored that of her own, and she was upset when the show was cancelled after three seasons in 2011.
Ms Larson also had three movie releases in 2015; Digging for Fire, Trainwreck and Room.
Brie Larson’s most critically acclaimed and commercially successful films are Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), 21 Jump Street (2012), Short Term 12 (2013), Don Jon (2013), The Spectacular Now (2013), Trainwreck (2015), Room (2015), and Kong: Skull Island (2017).
She has received an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a British Academy Film Award.
However, when Captain Marvel aires in 2019 it will be Larson’s first proper high-profile role.
She was initially skeptical of accepting the role but agreed after viewing it as a platform to empower young women.
