Comic Con trailers: Fantastic Beasts 2, Aquaman, Shazam!, Godzilla 2 – WATCH them all here
Yesterday movie fans descended upon Hall H at San Diego Comic Con where Warner Bros debuted a series of new trailers.
First up is Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the second trailer for the second film in the Harry Potter prequel series.
Fans are give a further look at Jude Law’s Dumbledore and Johnny Depp’s Grindelwald, suggesting their relationship will be further explored in this, the second of five movies set over 19 years.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is released in UK cinemas on November 15, 2018.
Next is Aquaman, a solo spin-off from last year’s disastrous Justice League, with Jason Mamoa’s Atlantean off on his own watery escapades.
The colourful and humour filled trailer looks a long way from the dark and serious tones of the latest Batman and Superman outings.
And it looks like Aquaman will be something of an origin story and Arthur Curry’s journey to becoming king.
Aquaman is released in UK cinemas on December 14, 2018.
Another DCEU entry – although the franchise is now officially called Worlds of DC – is Shazam!
This superhero movie is very much a comedy and looks to take the series in a totally new direction.
Based on the comic book, 14-year-old Billy Batson turns into adult superhero Shazam – also confusingly known as Captain Marvel – whenever he yells Shazam!
Shazam! is released in UK cinemas on April 5, 2019.
And last but not least is the next entry in the MonsterVerse, following on from Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters will introduce other big beasts including Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah teases in Kong’s end credits scene.
All before 2020’s climatic monster mash-up in the form of Godzilla vs. King Kong.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is released in UK cinemas on May 31, 2019.
