Denzel Washington in TEARS watching Black Panther ‘I just started CRYING’
The 63-year-old star is currently promoting his new movie The Equalizer 2 and was asked what the last film to make him cry was, revealing it was one of this year’s Marvel epics.
Speaking with JOE.co.uk, Denzel replied: “Black Panther, I shed a tear.
“I was sitting in there – I ran into Chad[wick Boseman] and Ryan [Coogler] before the movie started.
“It was their premiere, or the screening in New York, and just talking to them and they went into the movie – and the 40 years I’ve been in this game came back to me.”
Denzel continued: “I said, ‘Man, look at these young boys, man.’
“And I actually, I just started (crying). I was like, whew.
“You know, Sidney, to now? And I’m in the gap – me and many others –are in the gap, but it was like, man. I felt like the third leg of the relay race.
“Like, here, go. Now, I ran behind them – I’m still running. But I was like, man, they gone. They’re gone.”
Smith continued: “You guys have challenged and potentially even shattered a lot of long-time, long-held, false Hollywood beliefs and paradigms.
“I just wanna say congratulations to you. I’m proud, I’m excited, damn near giddy. Congrats, y’all.”
Black Panther will return in Avengers 4 next year.
