First Man trailer: Here's how to watch the NEW First Man trailer online
While the movie about Neil Armstrong’s moon landing may already be playing to critics, the rest of the world has a while to wait.
The story, ubiquitous in everyone’s collective mind, follows Armstrong’s personal life and struggles as he prepared for the moon landing.
Just today a brand new international trailer has been released, featuring new scenes and more drama.

When is First Man out in the UK and USA?
First Man lands in both the UK and the USA on the same date: October 12, 2018.
In the UK, this release date coincides with Bad Times at the El Royale and Mandy (starring Nicholas Cage).
While neither seem to be huge competition, movie-goers are fickle and may cause a surprise upset.
While simultaneous UK and USA release dates are often good for preventing spoilers, the story of First Man is already well known.
What is the plot of First Man?
While the story of the moon landing is already universal, Armstrong’s personal life before he took to the moon is also a huge factor in the plot.
First Man takes place during the years 1961-1969, and is, according to Universal pictures, “a visceral, first-person account, based on the book by James R. Hansen, the movie will explore the sacrifices and the cost—on Armstrong and on the nation—of one of the most dangerous missions in history.”
The Armstrong film recently landed in hot water after its Venice Film Festival premiere for not featuring the flag planting as prominently in the film.
In response, the director Damien Chazelle, who worked previously with Gosling on La La Land, said: “In ‘First Man’ I show the American flag standing on the lunar surface, but the flag being physically planted into the surface is one of several moments of the Apollo 11 lunar EVA that I chose not to focus upon.”
“To address the question of whether this was a political statement, the answer is no.
“My goal with this movie was to share with audiences the unseen, unknown aspects of America’s mission to the moon — particularly Neil Armstrong’s personal saga and what he may have been thinking and feeling during those famous few hours.”
He added: “I wanted the primary focus in that scene to be on Neil’s solitary moments on the moon — his point of view as he first exited the LEM, his time spent at Little West Crater, the memories that may have crossed his mind during his lunar EVA.”
“This was a feat beyond imagination; it was truly a giant leap for mankind. This film is about one of the most extraordinary accomplishments not only in American history, but in human history.
“My hope is that by digging under the surface and humanizing the icon, we can better understand just how difficult, audacious and heroic this moment really was,” Chazelle stated.
Who is in the cast of First Man?
Ryan Gosling plays Neil Armstrong, with Claire Foy, who rose to fame for her role as Queen Elizabeth in The Queen, as his wife Janet Armstrong.
Ed White, the first American to walk in space, is played by Jason Clarke.
White’s death during a pre-launch test for the first manned Apollo mission will surely be an emotional point in the First Man movie.
Buzz Aldrin, Armstrong’s co-astronaut and the second man to walk on the moon, is played by Corey Stoll.
The cast also includes Kyle Chandler as Deke Slayton, one of the original Mercury Seven astronauts, who became NASA’s first Chief of the Astronaut Office, Christopher Abbott, Patrick Fugit, Lukas Haas, Shea Whigham, Brian d’Arcy, Pablo Schreiber, Cory Michael Smith, J. D. Evermore, John David Whalen, Ethan Embry, Skyler Bible, Ben Owen, Ciarán Hinds, Shawn Eric Jones, William Gregory Lee, and Steve Coulter.
Olivia Hamilton and Kris Swanberg star as Patricia White (Ed’s wife) and Marilyn See (Elliot’s wife).
First Man is out in UK and US cinemas on October 12, 2018.
