Grease 40th anniversary REUNION: Olivia Newton-John CONFIRMS plans with John Travolta
Next year marks 40 years since cinema classic Grease was released and tonight on TV there’s a special documentary called Grease: Before And After They Were Stars.
So what are the chances of an anniversary reunion with John and Olivia? Well although the leading lady has not divulged what exactly the duo have in mind, she said whilst collecting the Icon prize at the Fame Awards in Las Vegas back in March, that the wheels are in motion.
“We are thinking up ways. Nothing to announce yet,” she teased. “Forty years anniversary of Grease, which I can’t believe.”
She added: “Time goes so fast. It is so exciting.”
According to the Mirror, the 68-year-old also revealed that she often thinks of retiring from show-business
“Every year for the last 20 years, I thought I was retiring and then somebody would say, ‘How about this?’ and it’s like, ‘Oh, that looks fun,’ or ‘How about this?’” she said.
“Things that I would never think about.”
She last collaborated with Travolta on a song, I Think You Might Like It, back in 2012.
Grease was released in 1978 and became an instant smash hit.
On a budget of just $6 million, it took $395 million worldwide and remains a cult classic today.
A sequel, Grease 2, was released in 1982 with Michelle Pfeiffer and Maxwell Caulfield.
Last year a shock theory claimed that Danny and Sandy were, in fact, dead throughout.
