Chris Pratt is everyone’s favourite superhero.

From his adventures with dinosaurs to his role as the Star Lord Pratt has been winning over hearts for years.

But after Thanos’ snap, his role in Guardian’s of the Galaxy Vol 3 is in question.

Who is in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 cast?

If you had speculated before Avengers: Infinity War, the cast would have included the mainstays of the franchise.

Star-Lord/Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel), Rocket Raccoon (with the voice of Bradley Cooper and the motion capture talents of Sean Gunn) and villain-turned-ally Nebula (Karen Gillan).

However, in the aftermath of Thanos snap, the space-rebels are quite thin on the ground (or in space).

Only Nebula and Rocket are left, which doesn’t lend itself to an ensemble hit for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.

However, Avengers 4 will air before Guardians Vol 3 and given the elements of time travel and rescuing its safe to assume that the Star Lord will be back.

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn already confirmed via Twitter Mantis will survive for Guardians Vol 3.

Gamora may return for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 if fan theories prove true it means she survived inside the Soul Stone in an alternate dimension and will help with saving the other heroes.

What is the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3?

Gunn confirmed Vol 3 will be an “epic conclusion” to the 2014 story he started with the first Guardians movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will bring an end to the current iteration of the team, and Gunn added: “Who knows who will take up the mantle after that?”

Gunn also hinted Vol 3 will set the stage for what lies ahead for the rest of Marvel Phase 4.

Speaking to the Toronto Sun, Gunn said: “I will be helping to plant the seeds that will lead to the next decade

“I’m helping to decide what projects we’ll be pursuing outside of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3… and what the next cosmic characters we will focus on,” he added.

From the press clips and confirmed rumours, it seems likely Vol 3 will take place at least four years after the events of Guardians 2 and sometime after Avengers 4.
