Horror fans have had a great year.

From Hereditary to The Nun, there has been a wealth of new horror content to see.

But nothing says scary like the Halloween movie franchise, despite some middling sequels.

With the new Halloween movie’s upcoming release, the franchise returns to its roots and just in time for this year’s spooky celebration.

When does the new Halloween movie come out in cinema in UK and USA?

Halloween debuts in both the UK and USA on the same date – Friday, October 19, 2018.

But the movie has been making its way through film festivals since September.

The Halloween sequel premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8.

From there, the film toured Fantastic Fest, the Hamburg Film Festival and most recently the Sitges Film Festival in Spain.

Halloween has already debuted in Mexico, Indonesia, and Phillippines and is out in Denmark today (October 18, 2018).

Along with the UK and USA, there are a wealth of other countries also being treated to Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode on October 19.

These countries include Bulgaria, Canada, Finland, Ireland, Cambodia, Lebanon, Romania, and Sweden.

Unfortunately, for those in France, they have to wait till October 24 to see the spooky sequel.

The weekend of October 24 through 26 sees the movie debut in France as well as Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Singapore, Ukraine, Bangladesh, Estonia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, and Turkey.

Cutting it close to the actual holiday, are Hong Kong and South Korea (October 31).

Lastly is the Netherlands, with a November 1 release date.

Halloween goes head-to-head in the UK and USA with Melissa McCarthy’s Can You Ever Forgive Me, Hunter Killer, and the documentary Fahrenheit 11/9 by Michael Moore.

Though perhaps the only direct competition is Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween (October 19, 2018).

The Goosebumps sequel is far more kid-friendly than Halloween, however, and are likely to draw different demographics.

Fans of the original Halloween movie are in luck, this sequel seems to be blowing critics away.

Halloween is out in UK and US cinemas on Friday, October 19, 2018.
