Heather Locklear: Why is the actress in the hospital?
Heather Locklear, star of Melrose Place amongst many other shows and movies, has been hospitalised following strange behaviour.
California authorities confirmed her hospitalisation to Variety, and Locklear is reportedly undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office confirmed both the sheriff’s office and fire department responded to a call of a “medical emergency” at around 3.50 pm on Sunday.
After they attended the incident, Locklear was transferred to a hospital for further treatment.
TMZ stated Locklear’s mother called 911 and said Locklear was acting erratically and threatening self-harm.
TMZ also reported the 911 caller said Locklear was trying to find a gun with which to shoot herself.
Captain Kuredjian of Ventura Sherrif’s Office could not confirm if the caller was a family member.
However, the captain did say it was not the patient who placed the emergency call.
The call is being treated as a medical incident, not criminal, and Locklear is currently not being charged on any counts.
The incident happened almost four months after Locklear was arrested for domestic assault and battery on a police officer.
Locklear has sought treatment for depression and anxiety and she reportedly went through drug rehabilitation.
Her time in rehab transpired after being hospitalized after she mixed prescription drugs and alcohol.
Locklear checked herself into a treatment facility in March to help with her battle with addiction.
Locklear has long dealt with mental health issues and in 2008 her doctor called 911 reporting that she was suicidal.
The following June Locklear sought help for psychological issues.
