Hollyoaks actress Amanda Clapham on beauty secrets: My style is quite sporty

Which beauty products do you swear by?

I use Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream overnight. It’s quite thick and my skin feels hydrated in the morning. And I make sure I cleanse and tone my skin. Clarins Toning Lotion is my favourite. 

What are your make-up bag essentials?

The most important is High Definition Brows Eye & Brow Palette. I’m growing my eyebrows, as I over-plucked them when I was younger, so this set really helps. My favourite foundation is Estée Lauder Double Wear Light, which gives good coverage without being too heavy. 

What is your best beauty tip?

My boyfriend discovered the recipe for a turmeric face mask online, as I was suffering from bad skin. It has completely changed my skin and I’m recommending it to everyone. 

How do you stay in shape?

I go to the gym quite often. My boyfriend teaches boxing, so I have started doing that, too. It’s really effective and fun. 

Which women do you consider beautiful?

I’ve loved Blake Lively ever since she starred in Gossip Girl. She’s gorgeous, stylish and seems like a nice person.

Do you have a favourite perfume?

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede Cologne. 

How do you like to pamper yourself?

With a full-body massage at a spa. 

How would you describe your style?

Quite sporty. I love my trainers and am usually wearing a pair of Converse or Vans. Some people have told me that I have an American look. 

What are your favourite high street shops?

Urban Outfitters because they do quirky, unique clothes. And I love Topshop, too.

What is the most you’ve spent on an item of clothing?

I splashed out on a YSL handbag to take to an awards ceremony. I justified it by telling myself that it went perfectly with my outfit and I’d get lots of use out of it. And I have!
