Is Avengers 4 set BEFORE or after Guardians of the Galaxy 3? Timeline revealed
Anyone who has seen Avengers 3 (is there anyone who hasn’t) knows that almost all the Guardians turned to dust.
The Infinity War makers have repeatedly declared that all the deaths in The Snap are real.
This has lead many to believe that Guardians 3 will take place before the events of Avengers 3 and 4.
Director James Gunn just directly answered that very question.
With so many plotlines and potential theories up in the air, Marvel bosses and directors have become adept at dodging difficult questions.
Gunn, though didn’t hesitate when plucky fan Stargirl tweeted: “Mr James, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will be before of Infinity War?”
He immediately replied: “It will be after.”
This is remarkable, not just for his honesty, but also because it shows that major Marvel Hollywood figures will respond to messages from regular fans with a few hundred followers.
It also reconfirms what everyone suspects.
Only Rocket was left alive after The Snap, so Avengers 4 will somehow bring back many characters lost when Thanos used the Infinity Gauntlet. Guardians 3 will be impossible with Star-Lord at the every least and could hardly happen in a brief gap between Avengers 3 and 4, anyway.
But if those lost in the Snap are somehow restored, what about Gamora? She ‘died’ much earlier, when Thanos sacrificed her to the Soul Stone.
Many theories about all the Infinity War deaths suggest that everyone who disappeared in The Snap will somehow be brought back, but the earlier deaths, like Loki, Gamora and Vision will not change.
The loss of Gamora would certainly bring a new darker angle to Peter/Star-Lord.
However many fans still hope that Gamora’s appearance as a child in Thanos’s Soul Stone scene at the end implies that the stone somehow preserves all the souls it takes.
AVENGERS 4 IS OUT ON APRIL 27, 2019
